Opposition Party Wayang

After the recent release of a statement by the Singapore Police Force that no permits are needed to stage a Wayang (Chinese Opera) during the Chinese Seventh Month, opposition parties are thinking out of the box in an effort to promote themselves. In a phone interview, Straight Times managed to talk to an opposition leader who preferred to be unnamed.

“We are trying to put together a production with the very little time we have left until this window of opportunity closes. This is a revolutionary idea. No one in Singapore has ever done something like this. We will bring our message across in not only an effective way but also fun for the whole family.” said the unnamed leader.

The production is due to open within the next week at your local Hungry Ghost Wayang Center. Due to the limit of only four people allowed (five being against the law), there will be a keyboard player, a stage manager, an usher and an actor who will act all the parts. Sources also say that there will be an auction after the show to raise money. Some items rumored to be included are unsold biographies, autographed mug-shot photos and memorabilia of the last gahmen election.
